Remodeling the Kitchen Remodel

The kitchen is getting a little more than a face lift.  It will not be recognizable by those that have visited this previous kitchen.  Thought we were just changing out the counters and flooring.   Well Brett and Brian went to town on removing tile, breaking up 2 inches of compound, pulling up a mesh wire that has what feels like a staple ever inch, and a paper barrier.

Here is what they did…

Here is what I did yesterday…

So wondering why we are now replacing some of the flooring and cabinets.  There was some water damage that left us this…

Our friend is helping us with a redesign of the cabinets.  Ordering them will take some time we essentially once we get the flooring up we are going to have to sit and wait.  It doesn’t look like we will actually have a kitchen when we move into this house.  Thinking about spending some time in Lanesboro while the kitchen is out of service.

Our focus will now turn back to the Family Room that has been sitting for a bit.  Meeting a contractor to hopefully help with a few things.

Other good news is that the entire upstairs is completed.  Thanks to Jason and Adam for helping us move about half our furniture on Monday night.  Talon Trail is starting to look a little bare.

The kids love the popcorn air popper!   I think they like making it more than eating it.

Duluth, MN: Scott Family Vacation

Just got back this week from Duluth, MN.  It actually worked out well that it was planned many months before buying a house because other wise I don’t think we would have gone.  Despite being stressed out in the pool it was needed.

One day we got to take the boys downtown…alone!  Thanks Aunt Jane and Sandy!

Not sure if Bennett appreciated this pose.

Ethan enjoying his sucker.

My boys…

My Favorite!

We met the girls down town.  Aunt Jane and Sandy took them in the stroller the 2 mile walk.

One day we went to the Lake Superior Zoo with their cousins!

Full load

And the swimming pictures…

A big thanks to the grandparents and Aunt Jane for helping us with the kids in the water.  My anxiety level greatly decreased after we created the 1:1 ratio.

Under Construction: Not My Blog, Just My Life

Well this was a big undertaking.  The thought of changing out some flooring and throwing up some paint has turned into a much larger endeavor.  Here are some before pictures and a little or the actual work happening.

If I had time, I probably should potty train her

Beware of brown, smooshy pebbles in my house.

Just pretty thankful I did not sit down in the chair before I noticed this left over diaper from Jocelyn.  There is a story of Nanny Sarah finding poop on a book in the girls room.  And poor Andrea was subjected to poop in the bath tub after Bennett emptied his froggy potty into what he thought was the most convenient spot in the bathroom.  The diapers spend more time on the floor than hugging the girls bottoms.  Masking tape is used for more than packing boxes these days AND they still manage to find a way out of it.  They pull that diaper off and leave a masking tape belly necklace.

The girls are insistent on “going to the potty” but they don’t leave behind any remains.  I wish I had time because I think they are ready to learn.  With moving to a new house and doing some construction before we get there it isn’t in the cards right now.  Realistically it is just easier to have your kids in diapers.  Right now I need convenience.  Mom, what are you doing in August??
