Yesterday Aaliyah and Jocelyn turned the big “1”. We are now proud parents of two 2 year olds and two 1 year olds. Now we can stop talking in months. One day before their birthday Aaliyah took her first steps. She probably has had the ability to conquer this task for several weeks but it wasn’t until we put her on concrete that she did it. It was either scrapes on her knees or a head injury. Guess she chose potential concussion. Watch the video for yourself…
We didn’t have a huge party at our house so everyone could watch them shove cake in their face. We spent the day at our neighbor’s family pool. Jocelyn mostly slept through it. The boys are better than they use to be in water. They even went down the slide. It helped that our neighbor’s son who is a month older was able to show them the way. The girls don’t seem to mind water. Jocelyn floated in the tube while she laid her head down. It was precious. We did take pictures with Annie on Saturday so they will be coming soon! Pictures tend to be a stressful day. I think we are at the worst age of trying to get them to look at the camera times 4. There were some people staring at us. The girls had a cake to enjoy. Those pictures were cute! and really how couldn’t they be!?!
Today I took the girls in for their 1 year appointment. Here are the stats.
Weight: 21 lbs 10 oz – 90%
Length: 30.5 inches – 60%
Head: 18 inches – 60%
Weight: 19 lbs 6 oz – 40%
Length: 29.5 inches – 60%
Head: 18 inches – 60%
Dearest girly girls!
You are incredibly sweet and this first year has flown by. I can’t believe how big you have gotten and how your personalities have developed. I have created a list of some of the many things that I love about you.
Aaliyah, I love…
~How your feelings get hurt when we walk past you and don’t give you the attention that you expected.
~How you say Uh-Oh and even say it when you drop something on the floor.
~How you play peek-a-boo and tackle blankets.
Jocelyn, I love…
~Your smile and giggle.
~How you let me put a piggy tail in your hair and only cry a little bit.
~How you love to snuggle and lay your head on my shoulder.
You both are amazing in so many ways. I listen to you laugh and mess around in your cribs. I always get a smile when I enter. I look forward to playing on the floor with you and watching your pull, push, move, manipulate, and discover everything around you. I love you with all my heart and am blessed to be your mommy.
Keep growing and I will be here every day to watch you!
I love you!! Mommy
