Dad, you asked me what they would have left to learn after letters.  We are working on numbers right now.

Easter 2011

We headed to Lanesboro last weekend to celebrate Easter with the Lamon’s and Grandma Cookie.  On Saturday Colleen had all 5 boys with her in Rochester.  The girls all went to Pine Needles in Decorah, IA.  And the big boys (Rick, Brett, and Paul) played around together.  The boys went to see the eagle’s nest in Decorah.

Saturday afternoon the kids decorated eggs.  Kelly reminded all of them that we would use the eggs the next day in the potato salad.  Nobody got too attached to their eggs.  Ethan and Bennett were excited to decorate them but then squeezed them tightly and they cracked.  Bennett threw his on the ground so from that point on he only colored on the paper.  Ethan was very excited as you can see!

Sunday was super beautiful so we took advantage and everyone walked to church.  Did I mention that my mom had surgery only 5 days prior to this.  Can’t hold that lady back.

The girls looked so adorable in their dresses.  We got some pictures.  Jocelyn is in blue and Aaliyah is in pink.  I think the picture of Jocelyn holding her dress up will be the first of many times that I watch my little girls pull up their dresses.

Before they got to do the easter egg hunt they had to take a picture together.  I guess I have to take what I can get.

The kids had an egg hunt in Mom and Dad’s yard.  Each of them got to find 3 eggs with candy and some with money.  Boys got to try their first taste of candy thanks to Granmda Cheryl.  Bennett liked it, Ethan spit it out.  They also learned what pockets are.  Bennett filled his with candy.

Look, NO hands!

Aaliyah has been able to stand without support for a few weeks.  Just today I watched Jocelyn do it.  Nanny Molly was here so she is my witness.

The girls are all kinds of cute, but at the same time they are pretty rough and tough.  Many times throughout the day you can find them jumping on top of each other.

We are adjusting the girls to one nap a day so in the AM there is a about an hour that is pretty rough.  They also had their first steamed sweet potato chunks last night.  I love that they can start feeding themselves a little.  Now we got to start working on the sippy cup.

I love the last picture where they are sharing the stuffed iguana as a chew toy!

We are hoping for a year full of biking.  Brett has already taken the boys out in the Burley a few times!  They were hesitant the first time and didn’t want to get in so Brett started biking away from them and they started running after him as they cried his name.  They didn’t want to get left behind so they got in after that.  They are tolerating the helmets this summer.

Thank You Nanny Molly!

Some of you know this but our super nanny Molly is moving on in the world.  Besides her busy summer schedule (CABIN!!) she also has a new grandbaby to help out with, so today marks the last day that Nanny Molly will be care taking of the PairSquared Clan.  Below is Nanny Molly pictured with her granddaughter, Maggie.

Maggie, just so you know you have got one incredible grandma! 189143_10150234550897785_519627784_8975950_570526_n

Who was our Nanny Molly?

Well, Molly is what she goes by, but in fact her given name is Marlys.  Since she joined our family she has been known as Nanny Molly.  Molly was our gift from God.  In our scramble of dealing with bed rest, having twin boys, and becoming new parents God relieved the stress of having to think about who would care for our children.  By chance Molly’s name fell into my lap.  I still remember the day that I was on bed rest and was calling all around the community looking for a daycare opening for 2 infants.  Not a chance considering the max infants that a home daycare can have is 2.  It was when I called Carla that she talked about her friend from church that had been thinking about taking a job caring for a baby, but maybe she would be up for 2.  Ha, little did she know that she would get stuck with 4.  I talked to Molly on the phone, we went and visited with her at her townhome in Apple Valley, and she came to our house with husband Brian to meet the boys.  It was the start of a beautiful friendship and bond that the boys will never forget.  My sister said to me that you make a Nanny part of the family and that is what Molly was.  She was there every morning ready to take on a day of playing, discovery, and learning.  I definitely feel strongly that the boys know their alphabet because of her.  We were always comfortable leaving the kids with Nanny Molly and confident in her care.  She played around with them and for sure loved them up!  Nanny Molly would be just as excited for new milestones and growth as we were.  She shared in celebrations as the boys walked and as Aaliyah stood on her own.  Nanny Molly was there for the boys dedication, their first birthday, and the girls dedication.  The events would of not have been complete without her.  I will always remember her laughing with joy as the kids giggled back.

There is sure to be something missing as we move forward in life.  She is someone to be remembered forever.  The girls for sure love her, but the bond that she has created with the boys will always exist.  They were pretty lucky to have her for almost 2 years.  And really, she wasn’t just a Nanny to them, but another Grandma.  We just happen to pay her (don’t get any ideas Cheryl and Sandy!).

I write this from the bottom of my heart….

Dearest Nanny Molly, I gave you my most precious treasures and you treated them like your own family.  I always looked forward to getting home to talk about your day and hoped that the kids were good so that you would keep coming back.  I couldn’t feel luckier to have such a loving woman part of my family.  I know that a day didn’t go by that Ethan, Bennett, Jocelyn, and Aaliyah didn’t know how much you loved them.  You will always be our Nanny Molly!

xoxo, MJ, Brett, Ethan, Bennett, Aaliyah, and Jocelyn

More Splashing!

Here is the other video from a few weeks ago!

Practicing Stairs

The girls did some stair time last night.  Aaliyah is fast.  This video is enough to make a Grandma nervous.

As soon as they can make it up the stairs on the own I am going to teach them how to put themselves to bed.

Our New Friend

Go Diego Go!  Our new nebulizer friend.

The boys are in the video several seconds in.  Wait for it because it is funny.  It sounds like they are saying “eggo” but I assure you they want Diego!

Ethan and Bennett in Diego world!

And I made them turn away from the TV to get a few smiles.  The boys are hilarious these days.  They are learning more words and gaining more skills.  We have added child safety door knobs to a few of the doors.  Ethan has become a car man and Bennett still has a love for books and balls.  We got haircuts on Sunday in preparation for their 2 year pictures tomorrow.  They are going to be some good pictures.  Annie got ducks!

Jackson’s Jamboree, March 26th 2011

We had the honor of throwing a party for soon to come little Jack Robinet.  Here are the pics from the party.  Thanks to all of Kristie and Mike’s friends for showing their support for the start of their new family!  (Sorry to the friends that I didn’t get pictures of.  I got sidetracked until later in the night.)

Dear Jack,

We all are looking forward to your arrival.  Your room is packed with supplies and your baby bum will stay dry due to an excellent diaper party that we had for you.  One activity that we did at your party was each friend of your Mommy and Daddy’s wrote you a note.  You have one to open on each birthday up to year 12.  Don’t let your parents forget to give them to you and NO, you can’t open them early!  All of us have no doubt that you will have two of the best parents ever.  They look tough but under the surface they are softies so make sure you ask for a new car asap.  We all love your parents dearly and know that we will love you just as much.  There is room in these hearts for 3!

Looking forward to meeting you!

Love, Mommy and Daddy’s many friends

Nana we need rain boots

Some pictures to get the spring started!  The snow hills are finally melted which has minimized the water streams down the street.  Luckily they got out to play in this one before they were gone.

It is nice to have neighbors with kids.  It triples the amount of toys that the boys have to play with.  Here is E and B in Sam’s Viper he got for his birthday.  Our street can very easily be mistaken for a daycare.DSC_5375Who needs a door?  This is some serious Duke’s of Hazard stuff. Happy 2 Year Birthday to Ethan and Bennett

(Shhh, don’t tell them that I posted this so late.)

On April 1st, 2009 Ethan and Bennett kicked off our active household introducing Two Became Four.  It is amazing how they have grown and how they are learning.  I really have enjoyed the past few weeks as their vocabulary has grown and they can put two words together.  Most the time it is “Milk-a please” but at least they say please.

Their love for Caillou prompted a fun present for their birthday.  Here is the video of them opening it.

Here are the stats from their 2 year appointment on Monday:

Weight = 25lbs 8 oz  20%

Height = 34 inches  45%

Head = 47.5 cm  30%

Weight = 25lbs 2 oz  20%

Height = 34 inches  45%

Head = 48 cm  40%

After a little present opening, we headed to the MOA for a little Nickelodeon chaos.  For those of you that have children with birthdays coming up, Nickelodeon land gives you a free unlimited wrist band for your child on the actual day of their birthday.  Don’t forget to pre-register on line (we didn’t and they weren’t happy with us) and also need the birth certificate.  The boys went on 4 rides and I think they liked the one that I had to put a dollar into the most.  They both got scared on Dora’s bus.  We pushed them till 9:00pm so we had some cranky kids by the end of the birthday.

To our little boys,

I understand that you are going to destroy my house, but I know that you will make up for it with your smiles and unconditional love.  If not, then makers, crayons, and pens will remain off limits.  We are so happy to have two of the silliest boys in our family.   We wake up excited to see you each day, even on those rare occasions that you wake up at 6:30am on Saturday morning.  A day doesn’t go by that I catch your daddy adoring you “screwing around” and hear him comment, “man, I love those guys.”  I think about you at work and can’t wait to get home to see if there is something new that you have learned and might share with me.  Some of my favorites have been when Ethan learned to say “NO WAY” and Bennett pointed at the orange ball and said “basketball”.  Since the weather has started to get nice, it has been fun to watch you play outside and run around.  If you could just tone down the crying when it is time to come in that would be appreciated.  I promise to be the best mom that I can be even when I find my bobby pins and barrettes spilled all over the bathroom floor for the 100th time.

We love you both and thank God everyday for the joy you bring us!

xoxo, Mommy and Daddy

I told Aaliyah to put on her pajamas

This is as far as she got.  Give it a few seconds before the giggles kick in.  Ethan also has an appearance because he gets mad that the girls move the chair and he can’t see Caillou anymore.

Why they always go for wipes and suck on them I don’t know.  And I am not willing to test one to figure it out.  If you leave them alone with the container nothing will be left in the box.

Daddy would be so proud

Bennett found some morning reading material.  Cub Foods is in trouble.
