31 weeks

Today marks 31 weeks. The real milestones from 30 weeks are in two week incraments. So 32, 34, 36, then 38. But everyday is one less day in the hospital for us. I am glad to be at home and enjoying the Food Network station again.

basement construction tour #1

Brett has started to work on the basement. Pictures and video is how he shows me what he is doing down there since I am not allowed to do the stairs. We were thinking that we might need some more play space with two kids running around. Everyone knows how crowded our living room is with furniture so we will be able to move half of it down to the basement. Including this giant 57" TV. TV's are so much better now. Flat, sleek, space savers. Can't really justify buying one of those until the old one breaks. Maybe it will get damaged on the trip to the basement. This video is an older one. Much more work has been done since he orginally took this for me so soon I will have him take another one. I know that he has cleaned up the majority of the junk. Thanks to everyone that has helped, Dad, Bruce, Jim!

dr. appointment today

~what will be will be~
Today was our 30 weeks 6 days appointment. Everything looks the same as the day that I went into the hospital, but now that we are this far into the game they are going to just let things be. So no more measurements or ultrasounds. I am not dilated, but we have made it past the stitch. They said there is only about .8 cm before dialation starts. My new treatment plan is bed rest, the home pump of turb, and my weekly appointments. They just told us what the main labor symptoms are that we need to pay attention for. My guess is that I will know. We weren't able to attend the birthing classes so we are going into this blindly. I am sure that we will have good nurses to talk us through it. Baby B is still breeched so C-section seems to be in the cards for us unless something drastically changes. To be very honest I am not sure that I even have the energy in me to naturally deliver two babies. You should see how hard I breathe after making it to the top of the stairs. Bed rest is not supportive to muscle tone or being physical fit. I am still hoping to make it to 34 weeks.

maternity pictures

We were fortunate enough to find a photographer that was willing to come to our home to take maternity pictures for us. Katrina was the name of our photographer and her business is called Studio Laguna (http://www.stulagu.com/). She did an amazing job. I was only 28 weeks but given the chain of events that were taking place we didn't want to risk the chance of missing this opportunity. I think by this time they each weiged in just over a pound. I selected a few that are running in a slideshow off to the right of the page. Brett was very involved as you can tell by the Vikings attire.

I have the sweetest husband ever!

Methodist Hospital

The stay wasn't that bad. The staff was so nice and encouraging. They are proud at how far I have made it since I was orginally put on bed rest. This picture is from Valentine's Day night. Brett got us sushi and sparking apple cider. After dinner we ate popcorn and watched movies in bed. As you can see, that didn't stop them from monitoring the babies and doing a non stress test. The pictures below are 30 weeks. Notice all the cords leading to my IV pole.

Our next appointment is on Monday. I am home with a turbutiline pump which is really similiar to an insluin pump. So far so good here. Thanks to everyone that visited us at the hospital.

Blog vs Email

I am going to change things up a bit. It has been just over a year since I have posted a blog so I am going to bring it back. Instead of weekly emails I am going to update my blog with the happenings. That way those of you that don't want to read about how I am doing on bed rest don't have to and also I can put more information up without loading down your email in boxes. I will do my best to update starting today!! This picture is from 28 weeks. Right before I got admitted to Methodist Hospital. We made it through the hopsital stay and are now at home.
